1. Introduction
Welcome to Simply Store. These Terms & Conditions outline the responsibilities, limitations, and rights that apply when you use our website or engage our collection and storage services.
By using our website or booking our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not accept them, please do not proceed with any bookings or inquiries.
2. Our Services
We provide secure UK-based storage solutions with collection and delivery of your belongings. All bookings are subject to availability and are confirmed once payment is received.
Our services include:
- Collection of belongings from your UK address
- Storage in a secure facility
- Return of items upon request (within the UK)
3. Your Responsibilities
By booking with us, you agree to:
- Declare the value of stored items before storage begins
- Pack items securely to withstand handling and storage
- Defrost and drain any white goods or machinery before collection
- Provide accurate contact details and notify us of any changes
- Use your own padlock for Mobile Storage Unit (if applicable)
- Avoid storing prohibited items, including:
- Firearms, explosives, or flammable materials
- Perishable or smelly items
- Live animals or plants
- Illegal or stolen goods
4. Payments and Charges
- A minimum storage term of 12 weeks applies, payable in advance.
- Ongoing fees are due in advance of each storage period.
- Overdue payments will incur:
- A 10% late fee
- Daily interest of 4% above the Bank of England base rate
- Administrative fees for dishonoured payments (£25 per instance)
- Prices may be reviewed periodically. 28 days’ notice will be given before any change.
5. Access and Unit Use
- Access to storage is available only during published opening hours.
- We reserve the right to deny access if payments are overdue.
- The unit is for storage use only. No other activity is permitted.
- We may enter your unit with notice to inspect or carry out maintenance—or immediately without notice if required by law or in emergencies.
6. Insurance & Liability
- We do not insure your goods by default.
- You are responsible for arranging insurance coverage for the full value of your belongings.
- Insurance can be arranged via Simply Store on request, under separate terms.
- Our liability is limited to £40 per item, up to the declared value.
- We are not responsible for any loss caused by:
- Poor packing
- Perishable items
- Acts outside our control (e.g., fire, flood, theft)
- We are not liable for any consequential loss, such as loss of income or use.
7. Failure to Pay / Right to Withhold Goods
If your account is in arrears:
- We may withhold access to your goods
- You continue to incur storage fees during this period
- After three months of non-payment, we may sell or dispose of your goods to recover the outstanding balance
8. Ending the Agreement
You may cancel your service by:
- Giving at least 10 working days’ written notice, ending on a storage renewal date
We may terminate the agreement:
- At any time with notice for non-payment or serious breach
- Immediately if unlawful or dangerous items are stored
At termination:
- All goods must be removed
- The unit must be left clean
- Remaining goods may be considered abandoned and disposed of
9. Disputes
We aim to resolve disputes quickly and fairly. If resolution is not possible:
- Disputes may be referred to the British Association of Removers (BAR) for conciliation or arbitration
- This does not affect your legal right to take court action
10. Legal & Miscellaneous
- These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales
- This agreement does not grant tenancy or exclusive possession
- If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest will remain valid
- No waiver of rights is implied by any delay or failure to enforce them
